In today’s world, climate change has emerged as a societal topic of conversation. Some believe climate change is happening, while others deny it. Though the debate rages on, California has taken action and lead the way in “going green.” In 2014, it banned single-use plastic bags. Now, it has eyes set on eliminating plastic straws. At RED, we pride ourselves on volunteering and giving back to the community through our Power-full Acts of Compassion and Kindness™ (RED PACK™). Through this program, we’ve contributed to many environmental clean-up activities, and hopefully many more. Recently, we noticed companies are opting to use water dispensers to eliminate disposable plastic water bottles. This inspiRED us to come up with new ways event companies could go green.
Water Dispensers instead of Bottles
Disposable plastic bottles are deadly to the environment. They’ve become a health risk for humans and wildlife. Water dispensers are reusable and have constant water output, which eliminates the possibility of running out of water bottles.
Digital Documents
Contracts or service agreements are often presented to the client in paper form, but thanks to programs like DocuSign/Adobe Sign, that is no longer necessary. DocuSign and Adobe Sign, allows the customer to view documents on a tablet, and sign using their fingertip. No more wasting paper.
No Disposable Cups, Plates, Cutlery
Disposable cups, plates, and cutlery sound appealing because nobody likes washing dishes and they and can be trashed once used. However, most of these items are made, or contain, some form of polystyrene, which is harmful to the environment and was recently banned in Long Beach, CA. Plus, reusable items end up saving you money in the long run.
Solar Generators
If there are no outlets around an area requiring power, most will resort to gas-powered generators, but that causes dangerous fumes and loud noises. Solar powered generators are a viable alternative and provide the benefit of charging while in use.
Reusable Gift Bags
Gift bags are a great item to give your guests. However, most of the time people will keep the gift and toss the bag. Gift your items in a reusable bag, it eliminates waste and provides an extra little gift for your guest.
